Robert E. Smith, Jr.
Bob has more than 30 years of executive management experience in the areas of credit analysis, commercial lending, special assets, credit administration and capital markets. He has worked in a variety of banking environments including as a Senior Credit Officer for Capital Markets at a large national bank. He has many years of teaching experience and has been an instructor for RMA and at the RMA/ECU Advanced Commercial Lending School, Greenville, NC.
Alan J. Whitecross
Alan has more than 40 years of experience in the areas of credit analysis, commercial lending, credit administration, credit and loan review, commercial real estate lending, senior loan and risk management, executive loan workout management and mergers and acquisition. He has worked in both a community bank and large regional bank environments. Alan has over 30 years teaching experience and is currently a national RMA instructor, as well as an instructor and the Chancellor at the RMA/ECU Commercial Lending Schools, Greenville, NC.
Charles B. Longest
Charles has more than 30 years of banking experience in the areas of credit analysis, commercial lending and credit administration. His career experience ranges from executive credit management at a large bank to CEO of a start up community bank. His most recent bank responsibility was at a large national bank where he led the credit function for floor plan lending over a multi-state footprint.
John G. Sebrell
John began his banking career in 1969 in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he rose from being a commercial lending officer to commercial area executive. Since then he served in numerous commercial lending roles in various Virginia banks. Moving to Roanoke, he became the senior credit officer for Southside and Southwest Virginia. In the Hampton Roads area, he served as President of two community banks for the next ten years until a merger moved him to the position of senior credit officer of another large regional bank. Upon retirement, John and his wife moved to Lexington, Virginia, joining Thurmond, Clower and Associates in January 2012.
John L. Dilworth
John brings 37 years of banking experience with community banks and large regional banks, ranging in size from $200 million to $171 billion in assets. His first 10 years were spent in the retail/consumer side of banking. The last 27 years was comprised of comprehensive experience in managing, structuring, and closing commercial and residential real estate loans and settling debts in favor of lending institutions, in particular, highly structured commercial loans, as well as asset management. He has been in charge of managing both troubled and performing commercial and residential loans secured by real estate in Maryland, Northern Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware. He has been accountable for launching strategies to preserve capital and disposition of loan assets through negotiated restructuring, forbearance, or foreclosure, while maintaining the asset quality of performing loans.
Reginald "Reggie" Wallace
Reggie has more than 30 years of banking experience in the areas of credit analysis, commercial lending, and credit process review. He was with a regional bank that grew into a large national bank and worked on numerous mergers and acquisitions along the way. His most extensive experience was with commercial real estate.
D. Dudley Armistead, Jr
Dudley has over 40 years of banking experience in the areas of credit analysis, commercial lending, credit administration, credit review, consumer lending, commercial real estate lending, special assets, and mergers and acquisitions. The large majority of his career has centered upon risk management responsibilities. He has worked in a community bank, regional bank and large national bank environment.
William Railey
William Railey, or “Skeeter” as he is known to his friends, brings over 40 years of regulatory and credit experience. In his 27 years as a Federal Reserve Bank Regulator, Mr. Railey served as a lead examiner in charge of bank examinations with commensurate experience on loan reviews and credit risk management. In banking, Mr. Railey worked almost 20 years in commercial lending and regional management. As an instructor, he proffered training throughout the Federal Reserve system covering topics such as Management Skills, Credit Risk Analysis, and Team Dynamics and Negotiation. Mr. Railey is a UVA alumnus and resides in Chester, Virginia with his family.
Garry L. O’Neill
Garry brings forty-three (43) years of experience in the Real Estate Industry to Thurmond, Clower & Associates. This experience includes Real Estate Brokerage, Commercial Construction, Real Estate Assessor (Arlington County, VA), Fee Appraiser, Mortgage Brokerage, and Banking. Most recently Garry managed the Commercial Real Estate Appraisal Review group for Sandy Spring Bank in Columbia, MD from December 2008 until June 2015.
RICK S. LIEBERMAN
Rick has more than 40 years experience in the areas of credit underwriting, review and analysis, consumer
real estate and auto lending, credit administration and commercial real estate
lending. He has worked in Executive capacities for over 30 years within Bank,
Finance Company and Credit Union environments establishing loan underwriting,
collection and servicing policies and procedures. Rick also has specific
expertise and experience in analyzing, buying and selling loan portfolios. He
was most recently employed as the Vice President of Lending for a multi-billion
dollar asset national Credit Union corporately located in Virginia Beach, VA.
Rick also brings expertise in regulatory knowledge and a strategic approach to
credit analysis and credit review.
William C. O'Connor
Bill brings almost 40 years of commercial and commercial real estate lending experience, along with credit, credit administration and special asset management knowledge. With experience in small to large community banking, Bill has 25 years of line lending experience, managing lending teams and commercial lending departments throughout that time. He then moved into various credit roles, serving as a credit officer and later a Chief Credit Officer. His breadth of experience allows Bill to bring a unique perspective to his clients to improve overall credit performance, balancing quality with growth.
